About Me

Welcome to my track and field page where I can talk about my life.I was born and raised in Rochester,NY. I attended Aquinas Institute Of Rochester high school.I started running track my junior year in high school. I started off very bad. I wasn't one of those runners who came out of know where. I slowly progressed and over time I became better. I didn't believe in myself when I first started running and I thought it was a waste of time.My first indoor season of track was a learning experience. I focused on the 300m which I didn't like but was average at it. I met the standard to run at state qual's. To make a long story short I didn't go to states because I was disqualified for stepping on the line even though I won by a lot. My coach tried to protest it the but nothing worked and I wasn't able to go to states. During my 2008 outdoor season I shocked a lot of people including myself. I was ranked number one in div1 schools(100m,200m) I made it to states for both events. I placed second in states in the 200m and the 100m we won't talk about that! Now on to my senior year indoor track. This was the best indoor season I could have asked for. I broke meet records in the 300m.I also was able to help my team make it to states for the 4x400 relay. I placed second in the 300m 34.99 and second in the long jump at States. A week later I placed 6th in the 200m at the 2009 Nike Indoor Nationals. I made Co Athlete Of The Year. Coming off this great indoor season I knew my outdoor season would be a good one turned out it wasn't. My first track meet I ran a 21.7,10.7,23-8 in long jump. The next track meet was the Hilton Invitational where I was going to try and break the long jump sectionv record. I didn't warm up that good I was just so anxious to jump. On my first attempt I put my all into the jump and pulled my hamstring. This was a learning lesson because I ended up pulling my hamstring three times that season trying to come back instead of being patient. I was not healthy enough to compete at state q's and didn't go to states my senior year of outdoor. That was probably the worst track season I had by far.I thank Coach Cook,Coach Dixon,Coach Walker for believing in me.
